FonSport News is a sports news aggregator that provides the latest news articles, live scores, and video highlights from various sports. The app allows you to browse news by category, save favorite articles, bookmark content for later reading, search for specific topics, and scan QR codes.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Analytics Data

We use Amplitude Analytics to understand how users interact with the app and improve the user experience. This includes:

App open and close events
Session duration and frequency
Screen views and navigation patterns
Feature usage (e.g., which categories are popular, search queries, video plays)
Settings preferences (theme, notifications, refresh interval)
Device type, OS version, and app version

Amplitude Session Replay

We also use Amplitude Session Replay, which records anonymized session replays to help us understand user interactions and identify usability issues. Session replays do not capture personal data such as passwords or payment information.

2.2 Locally Stored Data

The following data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers:

Favorites & Bookmarks — articles you save are stored in a local database on your device
App Settings — your preferences (dark/light theme, notification settings, auto-refresh interval) are stored locally using DataStore
Search History — recent search queries are stored locally for your convenience
WebView Cache — cached URLs for performance optimization

2.3 Firebase

We use Google Firebase Firestore to manage app configuration and content delivery. Firebase may collect standard diagnostic and performance data as described in Google's Firebase Privacy Policy.

3. Permissions

The app requests the following permissions:

Internet	Required to load news articles, live scores, video highlights, and send analytics data
Network State	Used to check network connectivity and adjust app behavior accordingly
Camera	Used for the QR code scanner feature and to capture photos when attaching files to feedback
Notifications	Used to send push notifications about breaking sports news (can be disabled in settings)
Storage / Media	Used to attach screenshots or files when sending feedback, and to download files from web content

4. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

Provide and maintain the app's core functionality
Analyze usage patterns to improve features and user experience
Identify and fix bugs and performance issues
Understand which content and features are most popular
Send push notifications about breaking news (if enabled)

5. Feedback Feature

The app includes a feedback feature that allows you to send us messages with optional file attachments. When you use this feature, your message is sent via your device's email client to donaldfeeney56@gmail.com. We only receive the information you choose to include in your message. The feedback is processed solely to respond to your inquiry and improve the app.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Data may be shared only with:

Amplitude — analytics data for app improvement (see Amplitude Privacy Policy)
Google Firebase — app configuration and diagnostics (see Firebase Privacy Policy)

7. Data Retention

Analytics data is retained in Amplitude according to their standard retention policies. Locally stored data (favorites, bookmarks, settings) persists on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall the application.

8. Children's Privacy

FonSport News is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. Your Rights

You can:

Clear all locally stored data by clearing the app's data or cache in your device settings
Disable push notifications in the app settings or through your device settings
Opt out of analytics tracking by contacting us
Request deletion of your analytics data by contacting us
